Today, I had experienced some problems with my BSNL Broadband. That is, it took a long time to get connected to some websites and some loaded as it is. In facebook, none of the images were loading. After some googling, i came to know that the problem was with the bsnl DNS (Domain Name Server) which points domains to corresponding IP Addresses.
I found an easy solution, you just need to change your DNS settings and use an external DNS server instead of your ISP’s.
Before you begin, you need to make sure that the problem is with DNS and not otherwise. To diagnose and rectify the DNS error follow the instructions below –
Try typing the IP of the website instead of the name. That is, type http://126.96.36.199/ instead of http://www.google.com and you should reach the Google website.
How to configure your network adapter ? (windows)
To configure your network adapter to use one set of the IP addresses listed above do the following –
- Go to your Network Connection Properties window. And select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click on Properties.
Now choose the option – Use the following DNS server addresses and then enter one set of the IP addresses as shown below
Now save and close everything. Your internet should behave normal now.
You may also try OPENDNS Service instead of google
188.8.131.52 and 184.108.40.206 are DNS for OPENDNS.
